Fountain Valley, CA - From April 30 to May 2nd Los Angeles Team Handball Club (LATHC) competed in the West Regional Tournament to qualify for the elite division of the United States National Championship. LATHC sent 2 quality teams to the tournament and faced stiff competition from the Bay Area's Cal Heat.

After a long weekend of games, the final match came down to LATHC and Cal Heat. Both teams had secured an invitation to the elite level, but bragging rights were on the line. After a fierce match against Cal Heat in January on their home court, emotions would be high. Both team came out ready to play and both defenses were up to the task. The game remained close throughout and LATHC managed to get tough defensive stops the last 3 mintues of the game to pull out the victory 21-20.

With the win, Los Angeles Team Handball Club became the West Region Champions of 2010 and the #1 seed out of the West Region for the US National Championships in Las Vegas from May 21-23rd.
